Our Philosophy of Dental
Practice
Our practice is centered on three basic beliefs.
The first
is that the patient has the right to make an informed choice
about their own dental health. The choice is yours because
your teeth belong to you! Our primary responsibility is to
educate you so that you can make good choices about your
dental health that are consistent with your needs, wants
and desires. We begin our relationship with most of our
adult patients with a comprehensive examination. We begin
each exam with a visit with the dentist so that you can
tell us what you expect from us and what you would like
your dental future to be like. We use this time to get
to know you better and hopefully for you to get a little
more comfortable with us. After visiting, we will perform
a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and head and
neck to discover any problems that may be lurking. We typical
will give you a tour of your mouth with an intraoral camera
to show you any areas of particular interest. Following
this tour, we will take 35mm digital photographs, x-rays,
and study molds of your teeth, to help assist in our evaluation
of your dental health. After gathering and evaluating this
it information, we sit down with you and formulate treatment
goals that are consistent with your wants, needs or desires.
Our second core belief is that you deserve the same
quality of care that we strive for when we are working
on our own families. When momma comes in she gets
our best! The best laboratory for her crowns, the best
surgeon for her implants, and the very best dental
care that we are capable of delivering. This type of
care is more expensive to provide! We are equipped
with modern equipment and use techniques that are more
time consuming so that our care is a cut above average.
Many dental practices use the best laboratory and techniques
that the dentist can afford to use and still make a
profit at the fees set by the insurance company! We
believe that every patient deserves the best care available!
Period! Insurance is a great benefit but your insurance
company should not be the party who decides the quality
of the care you receive. That choice belongs to you!
We promise to do our best for every patient! We believe
the value of the services we provide is more important
than providing dental services at the lowest possible
price.
Our third core belief is that our primary purpose
in dental practice is to take care of you for the duration
of your life. We approach every new patient that
the expectation that they will be lifelong dental patients.
What this means in a practical way is that your dental
needs may need to take a back seat to some of your
other life circumstances. If you have 8 kids and all
of them are in college at the same time, you may not
be in the financial situation to get all your dental
needs taken care of next week! So what! If we start
with a plan and we know where we are going, what's
the hurry? Mouths do not fall apart overnight and rarely
need to be totally rebuilt overnight either. If your
desire is for your mouth to be healthy for a lifetime,
we can find a way to help you reach your goals.
