Q: How does Dr. Nelson
keep up to date on all of the current techniques and
materials?
A: Dr. Nelson is dedicated to the concept of lifetime learning. In fact,
he's logged over 1600 hours of postgraduate education beyond dental school,
or about 55 hours per year; far beyond the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners'
required 12 hours annually. As an active, perpetual student, he's convinced
that a 'completed' education marks the end of a vibrant, progressive practice.
Dr. Nelson is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry receiving this
award in 2004. Since the inception of the Academy in 1956, the Academy has
only recognized 1900 dentist with the mastery award. The academy has over
37,000 members nationwide. Dr Nelson has been named "Business Person
of the Year" for 2004 by the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and is a
member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association,
the 5465 Study Club, the North Texas Interdisciplinary Study Group and many
other professional organizations.
As a team and as individuals, we make it our responsibility to be familiar
with the latest techniques and materials available.
